On July 5 and 12, the Comox Valley Youth Music Centre (CYMC) presents its annual faculty concerts.

At the first concert, longtime CYMC instructors Mary Sokol-Brown (violin), Keith MacLeod (clarinet), and Sarah Hagen (piano) will be joined by Ariel Barnes (cello) and Laura Barron (flute). The featured work they will play is Salon Buenos Aires by Aquila.

The second concert features Laura Barron and Danny Tones (percussion). The program will close with the Beethoven Septet No. 20 played by Nancy DiNovo, Yariv Aloni, Ariel Barnes, David Brown, Keith MacLeod, Katrina Russell and Steve Denroche.

One of these concerts, date TBA, will introduce the world premiere of a brass trio written for trumpet, trombone and French horn by esteemed CYMC trombone instructor Nicholas Francis.

Both events take place at Mark Isfeld Senior Secondary School at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.
