Women of the Comox Valley featured at next Simms Park Summer Concert Series show

Women of the Valley, a group of six local musicians, will bring sweet harmonies and original tunes to Simms Park on Sunday, June 11 at 7 p.m.

Women of the Valley, a group of six local musicians, will bring sweet harmonies and original tunes to Simms Park on Sunday, June 11 at 7 p.m.

The group includes Brodie Dawson, Élise LeBlanc, Ashley Sykes, Christy Vanden, Tereza Tomek and Tracy Lee Canil. Musicians will be taking turns performing mostly original music, backing each other up and playing a variety of instruments. The sound will be soulful bluesy folk, with a gospel flair, a twist of pop and a twang of old school country. See bios for each performer at www.courtenay.ca/simms

Simms Millennium Park is located by the 5th Street Bridge and across from Lewis Park. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

Other featured Simms Park performances on Sundays at 7 p.m. include Stealing Dan on June 18, Steel Magic Northwest on June 25, Time Well Wasted on July 9, Mary Murphy & Celtic Cargo Cult on July 23, Rock or Bust (AC/DC tribute) on July 30, The Sharp 7’s on August 20 and Jeff Plankenhorn on August 27. A Food Bank Drive will also be included as part of the August 27 concert.
