I am a homeowner in the city who has both rented and been a landlord in the past. I have volunteered with the First Aid Ski Patrol, and Vimy Flight; commemorating First World War pilots and their contribution to the 1917 Canadian victory at Vimy Ridge. For this project, done with the Royal Canadian Air Force and Veterans Affairs, I was awarded commendation medallions by both LGEN M.J. Hood and Chief Warrant Officer G. Poitras, MMM, MSM, CD.

Courtenay is a unique place, built by some incredible people who took bold steps that were specific to this place. Stotan Falls, Comox Bay Farm, river tubing access, the Courtenay Airpark and walkway are unique to this place and should be supported.

A strong and durable economy is the foundation of a successful community. Let’s work to diversify the economy and create new wealth by promoting our industrial, aerospace and manufacturing sectors.

Fiscally disciplined: We need to use our resources and infrastructure more efficiently and to better effect, e.g. changing the operation of the lights to promote better traffic flow over the existing bridges.

Governance: I will not support in camera meetings unless required by law. I will promote the interests of the community when working with city staff. I will also encourage constructive and respectful debate in council chambers.

Outdoor recreation: I will ask city staff to open a dialogue with TimberWest, with the goal of attaining land use agreements, to preserve the single track trails at Branch 21 and secure other areas to support recreation and tourism.

Housing: as councillor I can work to streamline zoning and bylaws to promote investment in housing and commercial assets.
