Maureen Swift has announced that she will seek re-election to Comox council for a third term.

“I am proud to have played a part in the evolution of the town over the past seven years,” Swift said, after filing her nomination papers Tuesday, Sept. 4.

“Being retired gives me the opportunity to devote my time to the service of the town and issues about which I am truly passionate. With a new council as well as a new mayor, there will be significant change in the management of our town. I believe that Comox will benefit most from a council that is balanced with both new ideas and experience.”

Upon completion of her teaching career of 28 years, Swift has devoted much of her time to civic matters. She is married, with two adult children and one grandchild.
