April Cornell, the well-known retailer and artist, left her mark on the Comox Valley during a visit on May 17.

Since 2012, Cornell has partnered with local business owner Linda Beattie to present a concept store, La Cache, to the Comox Valley, adorned with her ephemeral prints and lively colors and merchandised by the talented retail staff headed by Beattie.

During her visit to the store, Cornell painted an exterior wall of the store and met with shoppers as they watched the mural come to life.

On May 18, Beattie and Cornell hosted and served tea to the public at the store in downtown Courtenay.
