Comox Valley candidates coming forward to run in Nov. 19 elections.

A flurry of Comox Valley incumbent politicians, especially from Comox, issued statements Tuesday and Wednesday saying they will seek re-election.

Mayor Paul Ives as well as Couns. Tom Grant, Ken Grant and Russ Arnott declared their intentions in Comox.

Janice Caton joined Rick Grinham in announcing an intention to run again for seats on the School District 71 board.

Roger Kishi said he will run for a Cumberland councillor's seat.

Coun. Leslie Baird has not announced her intention yet, but she is expected to declare she will run for mayor of Cumberland. Mayor Fred Bates and Coun. Bronco Moncrief have said they will not run for re-election.

Municipal elections happen provincewide Nov. 19. In the Comox Valley, voters will choose people for Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland councils, school board, Area A, B and C directors for the regional district and Islands Trust directors for Denman and Hornby islands.
