Comox Valley man charged with attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment

A Comox Valley man has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment, and a slew of other charges in relation to an arrest in Comox, Feb. 10.

A Comox Valley man has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment, and a slew of other charges in relation to an arrest in Comox, Feb. 10.

Duty counsel appeared on behalf of Clinton George Armstrong in Courtenay court Thursday, Feb. 13. A bail hearing has been put over until Feb. 20.

In addition to the aforementioned charges, Armstrong is charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, two counts of uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, and two counts of breach of undertaking.

Comox Valley RCMP said the suspect and victim are known to each other.

“Clint Armstrong’s arrest and charges were in relation to an incident that occurred on Monday, in Courtenay,” said Comox Valley RCMP media relations liaison, Const. Monika Terragni. “The public was not placed at risk as a result of this incident and the individuals involved were known to each other.

“Given the nature of this incident and the ongoing investigation, we will not be releasing any further information.”
