Counterfeit $100 Canadian bills surfacing in the Comox Valley

Two businesses in Cumberland along with two in Courtenay have received counterfeit Canadian currency in $100 denominations recently.

Two businesses in Cumberland along with two in Courtenay have received counterfeit Canadian currency in $100 denominations recently.The Comox Valley RCMP were called to assist with these four incidents between Aug. 16 and 19.These bills have all contained the same serial number, and local businesses should be extra vigilant if they decide to continue accepting these larger denominations.The serial number on these bills was JMM1M01001. These files remain under investigation.
