The final phase of work on the 5th Street Bridge starts Thursday, Dec. 16 now that the first lane of concrete has cured and can accommodate vehicle traffic.

Single-lane alternating traffic will soon shift to the newly poured lane. Crews will remove the old overlay on the south lane of the bridge and repairs will be made to the deck in preparation for the install of a new overlay. A final concrete pour will be followed by fresh line paint.

Large vehicles are encouraged to continue using alternate routes. The bridge is expected to reopen to two-way vehicle traffic in January.

With the shift in traffic pattern, please follow the signage and traffic control measures in place, and slow down to keep workers safe.
