The Comox Valley Regional District will be continuing planned geotechnical and groundwater investigation work on Comox Road hill and Glacier View Drive from Aug. 22 to 24.

Due to drilling conditions and technical difficulties with the machinery, the work could not be completed by Aug. 17 as originally planned. Work will occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Drivers should expect delays, as single-lane closures will be required to complete the work safely.

Please follow traffic control personnel and signage, and slow down through the work zone.

Work will begin on Comox Road and move to Glacier View – only one location will be impacted at a time.

The CVRD will also continue with geotechnical and hydrogeological assessment in the Lazo Road area until Aug. 28. This work was originally scheduled to be completed Aug. 21, 2020.

This investigation work is related to the CVRD’s ongoing sewer planning project. Public consultation will begin this fall on three different options for the pipes and pump stations that move wastewater to the treatment plant. For more information visit: www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/lwmp.
