The Comox Business in Action (BIA) has launched registration for its Comox Business Matters, a new series of workshops, meetings and mixers designed to support downtown Comox businesses in tackling the many challenges and opportunities they face each day.
There are nine different sessions with a wide range of speakers and industry leaders. Topics are as broad as the BIA’s member businesses themselves; Planning for Business Growth (Sept. 21), Leveraging Technology to Grow Your Bottomline (Oct. 5), Online Marketing –Thriving on a Budget (Oct. 19), Tips Trends and Tackling Challenges for Food & Beverage Businesses (Nov. 2), and Is Incorporation Right for You (Nov. 16).
“The results from the development of the Comox BIA’s five-year strategic plan were loud and clear. Downtown businesses are seeking business development support and opportunities to connect with fellow members,” said Pete Chambers, president of the Comox BIA. “We are really excited with this dynamic lineup for the fall.”
Speakers include representatives from Small Business BC, Innovation Island Technology Association, Tuff Media, BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association, Alliance of Beverage Licensees, Langille and Company, and the Comox Valley Airport.
Recognizing the importance of air gateways and the marina to Comox, there will be two sessions held to focus on leveraging, supporting and enhancing these vital economic drivers.
Additionally, a Get to Know Your BIA Neighbour Member Mixer will be held at the Comox Legion (Oct. 12) plus the BIA will host its 2022 Annual General Meeting (Nov. 7).
