Free computer training offered

Valleylinks is offering free Wednesday afternoon computer training sessions in Courtenay.

Frustrated by your computer? So new to computers, they haven’t had a chance to frustrate you yet? Want to accomplish something using digital technology but don’t know where to begin?

Fear not!

From now until July 20, Valleylinks will be putting on weekly computer training workshops.

There will be a weekly Wednesday afternoon series open to all but especially aimed toward seniors, where participants will gain skills that will allow them to connect and keep in touch with friends and family using the Internet.

All workshops are free of charge; however, donations are welcome.

Space is limited to eight participants per workshop, two workshops per person. We ask that those interested sign up in advance.

Sessions include:

• June 29 at 1 p.m.: Computer Hardware Basics

• July 6 at 1 p.m.: Microsoft Word 2010 Basics

• July 13 at 1 p.m.: Digital Communications – Facebook Basics

• July 20 at 1 p.m.: Spring Cleaning For Your PC
