Fundraiser at Comox Golf Club

Family Fun Day goes Saturday afternoon

Fundraiser at Comox Golf Club

The Comox Golf Club, the Tee Box Dining Room and Mac’s Oysters have teamed up for a fundraiser on Saturday afternoon, to benefit YANA.

The inaugural Comox Golf Club Family Fun Day will feature discounted golf, free mini putt for the kids, a silent auction in the Tee Box Dining Room and a raffle for $5,000 worth of prizes.

Five dollars from each $20 (nine hole) green fee purchased between noon and 6 p.m. will go towards the cause.

Mac’s Oysters and the Tee Box are hosting an oyster barbecue on the deck - $2 per oyster or three for $5, with all proceeds going towards YANA.

Raffle tickets are $10 each or 11 for $100, with a great prize pack.

“The grand prize is a 60-inch LED smart TV with surround sound and a Wii U gaming console, courtesy of Best Buy,” said Family Fun Day executive director John Kun. “Second prize is a weekend for two at Kingfisher Resort, including accommodations and spa treatment. Third prize is return air fair for two from Comox to Vancouver, courtesy of Harbour Air.”

Raffle tickets are available at the pro shop and at the Tee Box Dining Room. The draw will take place live on 98.9 The GOAT, at 4:45 p.m.

The silent auction includes a $500 barbecue from Home Depot, gift certificates from Kal Tire and Mr. Lube, donations from Island Home Furniture, as well as donations from local artists.

“We would love to raise $10,000 - that’s our goal, anyway,” said Kun.
