A short drive or a click of the mouse is all it takes to make a donation to Habitat for Humanity, without ever opening a wallet.
Comox Valley Nissan, along with Nissan dealerships across Canada are partnering with the non-profit organization to help more low-income families access affordable homeownership and break the cycle of poverty.
"It takes just a little bit of effort, and there's no strings attached," explained Jim Revenberg owner/general manager of Comox Valley Nissan.
For every test drive, Nissan will donate $20 to local Habitat for Humanity projects or $5 for each new Facebook 'like' they receive between now and Dec. 24.
"It's awesome having this partnership; it's a win-win," added Revenberg, who added despite 30 years in the auto industry, he has not been part of a partnership like the one with Habitat and Nissan.
"It's really nice to see (Nissan) step up. There's a true genuine (sense) of it — we will donate with just a little bit of effort from people."
The program is part of Nissan Canada's Gift to You holiday campaign, with the hope nationwide the company can generate $550,000 in total.
"Nissan has big Canadian roots; when they really get behind an idea, they really do it right," noted Revenberg, who added the company also played a big part of 100th Grey Cup celebrations and the Canadian Football League.
"It's a humbling feeling representing of a brand who is doing something like this at this time of the year."
