With 15cm of snow already on their nordic trails, Mount Washington Alpine Resort is preparing for opening day in just a few weeks.
As of Nov. 3, the resort announced guests will not be required to provide proof of vaccination to recreate outdoors during the 2021-2022 winter season.
However, as an organization, they strongly encourage everyone to be immunized following provincial health recommendations.
Guests are required to show proof of vaccination at sit-down dining establishments inside the resort and similar guidelines apply to events and programs offering food and beverage. Masks are required in all public indoor settings for all people 12 and older.
In order to protect guests and staff, all employees, volunteers and contractors working at Mount Washington must provide proof of vaccination for the winter season.
For those using the Mount Washington shuttle bus, both staff and guests are required to wear a face mask at all times while riding the shuttle bus.
Kayla Stockton, marketing manager for the resort said the forecast is calling for more cold temperatures and the upper mountain has been dusted in white for well over a week.
Within the past 48 hours, the mountain received 31cm of snow.
Crews are active with machines preparing for winter operations and the public is required to remain off all trails and slopes until opening day on Dec. 10 (conditions permitting).
