The Pride flag was raised Monday at Courtenay City Hall and will fly during Pride Week Aug. 20-27.
For the first time in local history, Pride flags have also been raised in Cumberland and Comox, and at North Island College and 19 Wing.
Comox Valley Pride is in the process of re-establishing itself.
On Saturday, the group is hosting an afternoon barbecue at Simms Park and an evening dance at the Native Sons Hall.
