Comox Valley RCMP have charged a third man with a variety of charges stemming from a violent home invasion last September in Royston.

Steven Allen Ferris, 34, has been charged with break and enter with intent, robbery, assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement and more for an early-morning invasion on Sept. 15, 2010.

Three masked men broke into a residence on Kentwood Road, and duct taped a 49-year-old occupant and confined his 11-year-old daughter in her bedroom while they beat the male with weapons while demanding money.

RCMP confirm the unsuspecting residents were not involved in any high risk behaviour commonly associated with home invasion situations.

Ferris was arrested on April 23 and is currently being held in custody. The two other suspects — Michael Grant Pritchard and Darren Jason Puglas — are also in custody.
