According to Nanaimo RCMP, the crash happened at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, in the 2400 block of White Rapids Road in Extension.

“An older model black GMC pickup went off the road and came to rest against a tree,” said reserve Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesperson.

“Speed and alcohol are considered factors,” O’Brien said. “The vehicle was destroyed in the collision and was towed from the scene.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP detachment non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2023-19068.
