Police and ambulance attended the accident on Cliffe Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

The road cyclist who was injured during Sunday's Royal LePage Comox Valley Snow to Surf Adventure Relay Race remains in hospital.

Stephen Price, 67, of Victoria collided with a vehicle on Cliffe Avenue near Sunwest RV Centre during the road cycle leg of the annual race.

He is a longtime friend of Island Honda Banzai road cyclist Donald Gilmore. "(Stephen) suffered a broken clavicle, broken scapula, six broken ribs on one side, a punctured lung and a severe concussion," Gilmore said.

"He was taken to Vancouver General Hospital and remains there for testing. Talking to him on the phone he hides it so well that he sounds his usual self," Gilmore told the Record in an email.
