School District 71 (Comox Valley) is aiming to address the growing COVID-19 exposures within the district with a virtual town hall meeting.

On Thursday (March 4), medical officers from Island Health - Dr. Sandra Allison and Dr. Charmaine Enns - will discuss the current situation of the virus in the community, its impact on education and will take questions from participants.

The meeting will be hosted by the district on Zoom at http://bit.ly/SD71_ZoomTownHall from 7 to 8 p.m.

The district noted the town hall will have limited space; a recording will be posted on the district website (www.comoxvalleyschools.ca) for those unable to attend the livestream and to access for future reference.

There have been seven COVID-19 exposures at Comox Valley schools recently. On March 1, Island Health confirmed an exposure at Courtenay Elementary. Previous exposures include Highland Secondary School, Aspen Park, Georges P. Vanier Secondary, Queneesh Elementary, Glacier View Secondary Centre and École Au-cœur-de-l’île (outside of SD71).
