Gwyn Sproule, who topped the polls for the second straight time, was one of two Cumberland councillors re-elected Saturday.
Sproule tallied 585 votes in final unofficial results.
"I feel very honoured the people have chosen to keep me in council," said Sproule, who earned a fourth term. "I do think that we've got a great team.
“I think we've got a great staff team at the village office, and I think we'll be able to move ahead with a lot of goals and upgrade our community plan,” Sproule added.
She was followed by Roger Kishi’s 553 votes.
"I'm really pleased and I'm looking forward to working with the new council in Cumberland,” he reacted. “I think Conner (Copeman) and I are not strangers to the council chambers. We've been involved in the community and been attending council meetings...
Incumbent Kate Greening was elected to a second term with 544 ballots. With 515, Copeman claimed the fourth and final seat.
That was a mere 10 ballots ahead of Scott Easterbrook.
Other candidates were former councillor Leona Castle (336), Bruce Barnes (235), Todd Riley (216) and Eric Kozak (120).
Leslie Baird, who did not run for re-election as a councillor, will succeed Mayor Fred Bates, who did not run for re-election. Neither did veteran councillor Bronco Moncrief, opening a second seat on council.
All terms are for three years.
