Anton “Tony” Friesen aged 93 of Courtenay, BC passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Comox, BC on Tuesday, May 25, 2004.
Tony was predeceased by his brother Norm Friesen and sister Anne Peters. He is survived by his loving wife Ann, of 56 years; son Gordon; daughters: Lexie, Iris and Barbara; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother Don Friesen; sister Lillian Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony served overseas with the Canadian Army during World War Two and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Tony enjoyed reading the newspaper, current events and politics.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY, BC, on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. followed by fellowship and refreshments in the “Garden Room and Outdoor Patio” of the funeral home. Donations in Tony’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 1580 Fitzgerald Ave., Courtenay, BC, V9N 2S2 with appreciation.
