Bauer, Artur

Born in Poland, he was the fourth child born to Johann and Katerina Bauer. Artur had 3 older sisters and 2 younger sisters. In his teens he enjoyed playing the trumpet at many church functions and community events. He worked on the railroad in Poland and Russia before the war. After coming to Canada in 1948 with his mother and sister, they settled in Vancouver, BC, where he worked in various places. He was a devoted caregiver of his aging mother for over 30 years. After her passing, he moved to Courtenay, BC to be near his youngest sister, Charlotte. He enjoyed living next door to her for 15 years. He is survived by his older sister Alma Bialaseweiz in Tsawassen, his youngest sister Charlotte Lede, Courtenay, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, August 17th, 2004 at Piercy’s ~ Mt. Washington Funeral Home with burial in Courtenay Civic Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to PIERCY’S - MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME and Crematorium.
