With family by his side, wrapped in the arms of love, Barry was taken from us on Dec. 11th. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and though our hearts are breaking, it gives us some comfort to know his struggle has finally ended.
Born in Victoria, BC to William and Constance Pilkington, Barry was the eldest of 7 children. In 1956 he married Pauline in Courtenay. Moved to Campbell River when hired by Crown Zellerbach at Elk Falls Mill, where he was employed for 42 years.
Barry loved the outdoors - hunting and fishing. He was also a long time member of the C.R. Gun Club.
In 1997 he married Agnes and they both enjoyed camping and RVing.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife Agnes, Pauline (Graeme) dau Val (Bruce), son Dan (Sharon), stepson David (Ruby), stepdaughter Susan (Brett), stepgrandchildren Sarah (Wayne), and Ryan. Brothers Lew (Sheila) Bill, Ken, Ron (Vicky), sisters Shirley (predeceased) (Bob) and Gail (Reg), along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
