Ben Pass died September 19, 2006 at Glacier View Lodge in Comox.
Ben was born in Manchester, England in 1918. He served in the British Royal Engineers during World War II, was captured in Greece, and marched to Germany where he spent four years in a Prisoner of War camp.
After the war Ben married and, in 1952, emigrated with his wife and two children to Canada. Over the years they lived in Calgary, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Ben ended his working career in Victoria as the Supervisor of Accident Prevention for the B.C. Government.
Most recently, Ben has spent the last two years at Glacier View Lodge, lovingly cared for by the nursing and care staff. Ben is survived by daughter Jennifer (husband: Jack Welsh), son John (wife: Theresa Kishkan), grandchildren: Brandon, Jayson, Verona, Ashley, Forrest, Brendan and Angelica, and great-grandson Ryan. He will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at Glacier View Lodge, October 2nd at 3:00 p.m.
