It with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our mother Charlotte Galik affectionately known to many as "The Nanny" after a brief illness.

Born Charlotte Jorgensen June 19, 1925 in Vancouver B.C.

Predeceased by beloved son Frank in 1978, husband Louis in 1987, brothers Stuart, Bill, and Frank. Leaves behind brother George, son John (Nadine) and daughter Stacey (Brian). Four Grandchildren Kurt (Marika), David, Natasha and Nicole (Kevin). Seven greatgrandchildren Abby, Jace, Maddie, Gillian, Ben, Avery and Andrew.

Mom and dad moved to Vancouver Island in 1961 to begin a new adventure as pub owners buying the King George Hotel. This did not last long, but they came to love the area and put down roots in Royston. Joining the Eagles created lifelong friendships. Mom was always on the go whether it was hiking with the girls or taking bike trips to far away places. It was hard to keep up with her. Not one to sit home idle mom was either baking up a batch of her famous scones or outdoors enjoying nature. Mom would always say, "I have had a life well lived".

Please join us to celebrate Charlotte's life on January 7, 2019 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Royston Community Hall (3902 S Island Hwy).
