It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Nellie at the age of 88. A long time resident of Courtenay, she was born in Peace River, Alberta. Nellie moved to the Comox Valley in 1956 with her husband Jerry, where she worked as a manageress of a dry cleaners for many years. At one time was a member of the CWL and a very involved member of the Comox Valley
Ukrianian Cultural Society since it was founded. Nellie was also very involved with everything her children did. She lived a very full life, with love, especially for God, family and friends. We loved her very much and she will be truly missed.
Nellie was predeceased by her loving husband Jerry, her son Gerald, her Parents Peter and Anna, her brothers Mike and Steve, and her sister Jean. She is survived by her daughters Joy and Gloria, Sister’s Eva, Mary (John), Olga (Don), and many Nieces and Nephews. As well; Rosie, Lonnie and their children Jessie and Jenna who became a part of our family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Kidney or Heart Society would be greatly appreciated.
A funeral service for Nellie was held at the Christ The King Catholic Church , 1599 Tunner Drive, Courtenay, B.C. at 11:30am, on Thrusday August 11, 2016.
