Constance (Connie) Eileen Anshelm

February 20, 2023

January 16, 1933 - February 20, 2023
In loving memory ~
Connie was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on January 16, 1933 and passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2023 in Courtenay, British Columbia.
Connie settled in the Comox Valley in 1955 and spent the remainder of her life there. Connie was a devoted family person, loved gardening, traveling, reading, and enjoyed watching figure skating and researching family history. Most of all she loved her family and stood by them even in tough times.
She was a very hard worker, and was employed at the Old House restaurant for many years before her retirement. Connie helped out many people in the community.
Connie was predeceased by her mother (Edith Smith), father (Charles Ferguson) and three brothers (Bill, David and Murray). She is survived by her daughters, Avis Crisp (Dan Silvester), Emily Strachan, Diana Anderson (Ken) and three sons Wes (Elaine Watts), Larry (Maricel) and Curtis. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, her god daughter, many relatives in Canada, United States and the United Kingdom and many friends, and extended family members.
Connie lived independently to the end - creating photo albums, gardening, cooking family meals, keeping her home lovely and driving up to her 90th birthday. Her 90th birthday celebration was held on January 14, 2023 and was well attended with friends and family arriving from all over B.C., Alberta, Nova Scotia and the NWT.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff on the third floor at the Comox Valley Hospital. There will be no service as per Connie's request. In lieu of flowers, Connie would appreciate a donation to the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children's Health in Victoria, in her name.
Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Great-Great-Grandma was well loved and will be missed.
