Dickey Erwin Isenor passed away March 26, 2019, with family by his side.

He is predeceased by his five sisters, Emma, Margaret, Mary, Alice and Janet, his brother John, and son Daryl. He is survived by his wife Alice of 69 years, seven children Bruce (Kerry), Robert (Janice), Lynne (Al), Glen, Daniel (Karen), Richard, Norman (Helen), and ten grandchildren Avry, Alyssa, Kristofor, Mathew, Jacquelyn, Danielle, Brittany, Dawson, Jayden, Hope, and nine great-grandchildren.

Born and raised into one of the early Merville settlement families Dick spent most of his life living on the family farm. He had a life long passion for gardening. When his fruits and vegetables became more than his family could consume, he was known for leaving boxes of produce at the mailbox for his neighbours.

He was a teacher and administrator in the Comox Valley for 35 years. Teacher at; Oyster River (Black Creek School), Cumberland, Tsolum. Principal of; Union Bay, Fanny Bay (Union Bay satellite), Courtenay Central, Courtenay West, Courtenay Elementary, Tsolum Elementary, Comox Elementary and District Staff Principal.

Upon retirement Dick found joy as a historian co-authoring several local history books; Swirl of Nations (West Coast exploration and fur trade), Land of Plenty, One Hundred Spirited Years, Edge of Discovery, Kaleidoscope, Images of the CRA, Field Notes, An Environmental History.

He was a director of the Mount Becher Ski Development Society and spent many years volunteering with the disabled ski program on Mount Washington.

Honoring Dick's request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated
