Just shy of 97 years, Docietta Bristow, born in Neepawa, Manitoba, died peacefully on the 3rd of September at St Joseph Hospital in Comox with her loving family at her side.

Born September 15, 1919 to Robert and Etta Allan, Doci spent most of her years in and around Winnepeg MB. As a registered nurse, she devoted her life to helping others. Her loving husband, Mack passed away in 1998 and a few years after his passing she moved to the Comox Valley to be closer to her daughter, Dawn. Doci loved exercise, walking, music, dogs, food, playing cards and having fun. She enjoyed dancing and was always smiling and tapping her foot to a tune.

She is survived by her loving daughter Dawn (Jim), grandchildren Tamara (Martin), Matthew (Pernille) and Darcie (Hak). She had just returned from another summer at the cottage with her great grandchildren Kyle, Sarah, Avery and Nate who brought her great joy.

Doci’s life will be celebrated at 1PM on 23 Sept. at Piercy’s Funeral Home in Courtenay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society.
