1920 – 2006

Jean Olsen passed away peacefully in Comox, Bri-tish Columbia on March 2nd, 2006.

She was predeceased by her brothers Malcolm Coker and Ken Coker. Jean is survived and will be lovingly missed by her son Brian (Judy) Bates of Langley, B.C., her grandchildren Cory (Amy) Bates of Kelowna and Chad Bates of Chilliwack, BC., her brother Bernard (Eloise) Coker of Ottawa, ON, her sister Margaret (Duffy) McKinnon of Brandon, Man., her sister-in-law Joan Coker of Sarnia, ON, 1 niece and 8 nephews. Jean was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion with 54 years of service and a lifetime member of D’Esterre Seniors (since it’s inception). A Memorial Service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160 in Comox on Monday, March 6th, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Service Officer Victoria Coffey facilitating. Arrangements have been entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1101 RYAN ROAD. Courtenay, B.C. In lieu of flowers donations made in Jean’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.
