Passed suddenly on August 20, 2016 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by brothers Norman and Geordie and sisters Florence and Shirley. Father to Scott, Laura (nee Gardiner), Robert and stepfather to Rodney (deceased) and Susan Keller (nee Harris). Earl will also be well remembered by his many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Earl retired from the family home heating business and moved from Guelph, ON to Courtenay, BC in 1990. There he became a ‘gentleman farmer’, loved tending the animals and continued building and flying radio controlled model aircraft. A quick learner and very talented with his hands, Earl began building all types of horse drawn carts for display and use. An avid reader all his life Earl liked nothing better than an easy chair, his pipe and a history book.
Earl happily spent his final years in the ‘Abbeyfield House’ retirement home.
