Mom passed away peacefully Monday, July 1, 2013 at Ocean View, Comox. Though Edna was born in Courtenay (1912) she grew up and attended elementary school on Denman Island. After attending high school in Courtenay, Edna moved on to Victoria where she met Walter (Wally) Graves. They married on Denman Island in 1935 and lived in Victoria for 10 years, then Creston, BC for 4 years before moving back to the Comox Valley with their 2 daughters Marlene and Carolyn. Edna worked at Eatons for 20 years and upon retiring, enjoyed many years of traveling. Edna was an active member of the Eastern Star, St. George’s United Church and Ladies Auxiliary, Denman Island Lace Group, Evergreen Seniors, Kiwanis Ladies and well as bridge, Majong, Pinochle and of course the odd poker game with friends.
Edna is predeceased by: her husband Walter (Wally) Graves, 3 sisters; Lottie, Stella and Muriel, daughter Marlene, Granddaughter Sandra, Great Grandson Keegan. She is survived by: Brother Raymond, Daughter Carolyn (Stan), Grandsons; Gary, Cory, and Randy, Granddaughters; Tami (Don) and Toni, Great Granddaughters; Bre, Sarah, Simone, Victoria (Jake), Amber, Tanisha, and Cora, Great Grandsons; Cedar, Hunter and James, Great Great Granddaughters; Mihena and Sophia, Great Great Grandsons; Lucas and Jacoby.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday July 8, 2013, 1:30pm at Piercy’s Mt. Washington Funeral Home.
