1949 - 2011
Eileen Catherine Lily Parent was born December 14, 1949 in Kimberley B.C. She passed away June 14, 2011 at her home in Courtenay, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Her growing up years were spent in Ladner, B.C. She has resided in Courtenay since 1987 and was employed by Comox Valley Rice Financial Services which evolved into Coastal Community Credit Union in Comox. Eileen was well known for her wonderful smile, her joy of laughter, her quick wit and her love of people. She was a woman of great integrity, honesty and reliability, and excelled in her customer service because she genuinely cared about her clients. These same virtues made her a friend to be cherished by many, especially her Red Hatter pals.
Eileen is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Emile Parent, her son Tim Anthis and girlfriend Angela, cousin Gary Simpson, niece Deborah Cartlidge, nephew Brett Pickles and her life long friend Judi Zerkee.
She was predeceased by her father Roy Simpson, sister Julie, brother Allan, nephew Allan and nephew Cory.
The family would like to extend their thanks and great appreciation for the assistance and aide given in our time of need by the Home Care Nurses and by the Red Cross.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Red Cross.
Service will be held Saturday June 25, 2011 at 10am at the Comox Valley Funeral Home. Reception to follow at the same location.
