February 19, 1940 - March 5, 2022
The family are saddened to share the passing of Eleanor Jean Stolarchuk on March 5th, 2022, at 82 years of age. Eleanor was born on February 19, 1940, in Augusta, Maine, USA, where she grew up, and as a young adult worked for the State in the local hospital. She met her future husband in Brunswick, Mine, where he was stationed with the RCAF in support of NORAD at Topsham AFs in 1963. After Nick's 4-year tour, they moved to Quebec in 1967, then on to Borden, Ontario in 1969, and later to Comox in 1974. They fell in love with the Comox Valley and decided to make it their permanent home.
Eleanor was a loving wife, and caring mother to both of her two children and family pets. She enjoyed cooking, baking, needle point, gardening and took pride in her various flowers. In the mid 80's, she was employed with Zellers as an associate until the store was closed. She met many, many friends at the store while working there.
She is survived by her husband, Nick; her son, Nicholas Robert; her daughter, Lynn Ann (terry); her grandchildren, Loni, Thomas, Tara and five great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and health care providers who cared for Eleanor during her most recent illness and over the past years.
A private Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held in Eleanor's memory.
