OGDEN, Ethel Kathleen "Kay"

April 16, 1936- May 23, 2011

Kay Ogden passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents John & Edna Quinn and her two brothers Jim & John Quinn.

Kay is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Chuck Ogden, her children; Shelley (Dave) Gartside of Courtenay, B.C., Troy (Joan) Ogden of Ladysmith, B.C., her grandchildren Mackenzie Gartside of Courtenay,B.C., Jeffrey Gartside of Grande Prairie, AB., Lauren and Quintin Ogden of Ladysmith B.C., as well as her great grandson Payton Gartside of Courtenay, B.C. and Aunt Delores Rohrer of Golden, B.C.

Kay was an independent, warm hearted, loving soul who cared for her family and loved them more than anything else in the world. She grew up in a family of loggers and could swear without he best of them, and had sayings that could make a logger blush. Her husband Chuck was her champ and soul mate. She accepted people and made them part of her family, giving them love, giving them a bawling out and always feeding them well. She liked nothing more than having her family all together in one big noisy crowd. She adored her grandchildren and great granddaughter…and said they'd always be her babies no matter how old they got.

She stuffed many health problems that challenged her but always rebounded. Finally her big generous heart just gave up and she joined her brothers and mother and father in a better place. We will all miss her so much as she marked our lives with her sense of humour, generosity, and really good soup.

Private cremation arrangements, with flowers and donations gratefully declined. In memory of Kay, she would ask that you hug your family and feed them well.
