Born November 27, 1927 in Hague, SK and passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on August 7, 2012. Ethel is predeceased by her two husbands Earl Joseph Hanna and Fred Meilicke. She is survived by her sister, Alice Friesen, of Ottawa, ON, her five children; Sandy Knowles of Kitimat, BC, Randy (Yvette) Hanna of Saskatoon, SK, Todd (Lorrie) Hanna of Delta, BC, Joe (Donna) Hanna of Kelowna, BC and Ken (Peggy) Hanna of Surrey, BC; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many dear friends. Ethel was a wonderful mother and role model. She loved to travel, meet new people and enjoyed life to the fullest. Ethel enjoyed living the last two years of her life at the Pacifica Retirement Community in Surrey, BC.
A Celebration of Ethel’s Life will be held on August 19, 2012 at 2PM at the Pacifica, 2525 King George Blvd., Surrey BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army or the BC Lung Association.
