Flora Irene White

Flora Irene White

(nee McInnes)

July 13, 1924 ~ September 20, 2007

Flora passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her children. Flora was born in Melita, Manitoba and moved to Vancouver where she and her husband Leonard raised their family, then later moving to Comox, BC.

Flora will always be remembered with love, by sons Dave (Anita) White, Dan (Roseanne) White of Comox; and daughter Elizabeth Campbell, Kelowna. Her grandchildren: Kevin, Jayme, Shannon and Garth White will always remember, with fondness, gatherings at Grandma’s home and fun-filled summers at Birch Bay.

She is survived by her brother Doug McInnes (Emily) Ladner, brother-in-law Werner Maraun, Vancouver; sister-in-law Marguerite Wedman (Hedley) Vancouver and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flora enjoyed traveling with her husband Len and had a passion for literacy. She was a loving person to her family and kind and generous to all. She had a positive outlook on life and always saw the best in people. One of Flora’s most enduring qualities was her ability to listen and to make others feel special.

Heartful thanks from our family for the care provided by Dr. Bowler, Home and Community Care, Red Cross and the Hospice Society.

Family and friends are invited to a reception to honor Flora’s life at: 144 Manor Drive, Comox on September 29, 2007 from 2 – 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Flora’s memory to the Comox Valley Hospice Society, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, BC.
