With sadness, we announce that Dad peacefully passed away at the Views in Comox on his 94th birthday. 

Dad was born to Edwin and Jessie Tillotson in Port Arthur, Ontario. He is predeceased by his wife Prudence Tillotson nee Tinsdeall; three sisters, Ada Tillotson, Alyce Barber and Marguerite Hidlebaugh. He is survived by three sisters, Ethel Kothlow, Helen Mann and Florence Webber, a daughter, Patricia Rafuse (Dennis), a son Richard Tillotson (Emma); five grandchildren, Wendy (Oliver), Allan (Jaki), Jeff (Larissa), David (Kari) and Donna; thirteen grandchildren, Shailynn, Colton, Sarah, Aaliyah, Coulsen, Kaylee, Lily, Carter, Isla, Penelope, Ophelia, Charlotte and Jake, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. 

After serving in the R.C.A.F. during WWII, Dad was honorably discharged then reenlisted. He married Prue in 1947. Two children and many adventures later, Dad and Mom retired to Comox, BC in 1973. 

Dad served on Comox Town Council for 4 years. He was a long-time Legion member. For over 60 years he was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge. Dad also enjoyed travelling and the outdoors, earlier hunting, fishing, later golfing.

Dad will be remembered for his smile, his infectious laugh, his persistence and energy. 

Dad's funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 9th at 1:00 pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, followed by placement of the urn in the niche wall at Courtenay Civic Cemetery. Immediately following, his family will host friends for fellowship and refreshments in the Garden Room and Outdoor Patio of the funeral home.
