1927-2022 ~
The family of George Webber is saddened to announce his passing on September 14, 2022 at the age of 95.
George was a loving and devoted father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother; his wit and humour will always be remembered by his family: George is survived by his wife of 72 years, Agnes and sons Bob (Jackie), Joe (Josie) and Dan (Bev); 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters and brother; Mildred, Marguerite, Maureen and Reginald.
Born in Bevan, George lived with his 13 brothers & sisters. He met and married his love Agnes in Bevan and in 1956 they moved to Cumberland. George, at the beginning of his working life, was a logger and realized that was not the life for him.
He started working at the Comox Creamery (Dairyland), where he remained until he retired at the age of 62. George was also a proud volunteer with the Cumberland Fire Department and served for 16 years.
George was easily a fast favorite in any room or campsite, always entertaining people with jokes and stories. He was famous for his love of fishing and camping. His grandchildren will forever cherish the memories they have getting to do both with their grandpa and grandma.
He loved to tend to his little garden and play cards with Agnes and their friends. He was a devoted Vancouver Canucks fan who never forgot a game and was always ready to argue a referees call that went against the Canucks.
The family wishes to thank the team of people who cared for George at North Island Hospital in Comox during his final days.
In honoring his wishes, no service will be held.

Gone Fishin'
By Delmar Pepper
"I've finished life's chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I've been invited to the fishin' hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don't worry, or feel sad for me,
I'm fishin' with the master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
This won't be long you will see,
Til we're together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I'm missin'
Just tell em I've gone fishin'."
