Glady is predeceased by her husband Henry (Wes) Wensley; two sisters Doris Jodrey and
Helen Mills; and her parents Evan and Klara Grandahl. She is survived by her sons Hank (wife, Ellie) and David (wife, Debbie); her daughters Angela (wife, Wendi), Connie, and Lainie (husband, Michael); her 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 9 greatgreat grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Jeanette, Irene, and Ruth.
Glady was born in Kingman, Alberta at her Aunt Anna's homestead. She was raised with 5 sisters in a musical family in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Her father played the fiddle and her mother played the guitar. The sisters sang and created beautiful harmonies together. After graduating, Glady began a career in the bank, eventually becoming an accountant. She worked in that field until she retired. Her real passion was for her family, raising five children with a full-time career. She found time to enjoy music and singing, dancing, pottery, sewing, crafts, and to make the family home a beautiful space to be in. One of the many gifts she gave to her children was her joy for life. Laughter was the way through any hardships.
Flowers gratefully declined. Glady would have liked us to support the Salvation Army. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday 18 December 2019 at 2 pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road in Courtenay.
