March 28, 1925 - May 13, 2020
Grace passed away peacefully at The Views on May 13th, 2020
She was born in Courtenay on March 28, 1925 and was proud to say lived her entire 95 years in the Comox Valley.
On November 23, 1945 she married Ed.
Family was of the utmost importance to Grace. She took a keen interest in everyone's life, even the family pets. She never missed remembering a birthday, or a special occasion. She looked forward to family visits. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed many tea parties with lots of goodies at her home.
In her younger years she was an avid gardener and has passed those genes on to the next generations.
She loved baseball. The Blue Jays have lost one of their greatest fans.
As she aged, her loss of sight greatly curtailed her activities, however she still lived independently until seven months ago.
She is predeceased by her husband Ed, parents Peter and Mary Dargie, brothers George (Jean) and Bob (Pat).
She's is lovingly remembered by her son Ed(Joan), daughter Linda McQueen (George), grandchildren Janice Bjorndahl (Neil), Amy Collins (Brad), Teresa Buckley (Mark), Ryan McQueen (Nicole), great grandchildren Reid, Iris, Carter, Gavin, Olivia, Thomas, Sarah, and Owen, her sister Mary McKinnon, and many nieces and nephews.
Grace was a quiet, generous, loving person. She will be greatly missed.
A very special thank you to Joyce Dargie for being such a wonderful, helpful, and supportive friend.
Also many thanks to the caring, compassionate staff and volunteers at Hospice. You made her last months a little brighter.
No service by request.
