April 6, 1948 - August 1, 2018
Graham Robert Howie, a resident of Courtenay, passed away on August 1, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Rena Howie, and his sister Linda Howie. Graham is survived by his loving wife, Donna Davis; daughters Chantal Polasek (Keith), Roxie (4-legged fur baby); grandchildren, Devon Polasek and Jenna Polasek; brothers, Doug Howie (Donna) and Bruce Howie (Nancy); sisters, Joan Dell (John-deceased), and Gail Gerrard (Simon), as well as many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart and he valued all time spent with them.
Graham worked for the SunWest RV family, who went above and beyond in their support of him. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, vacation cruises and of course supporting Casino's wherever his travels took him
Graham was a positive, strong willed man who wasn't going to let cancer control how he lived or died. On August 1st, 2018 at 6:30 pm (exactly 16 months to the day from his diagnosis) he chose to end his journey with his daughter Chantal and, his partner, Donna by his side. He did it his way............

A very special thanks to, Dr Wainberg (GP), Dr Daws (MAID Program) and a special recognition of the Doctor and all the staff of the local Cancer Clinic in the new Comox Valley Hospital and the Victoria based Cancer Clinic. An Intimate Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 10th.
