Born Big Valley Alberta April 4 1928. Died Courtenay March 10, 2016 at Seniors Village.

Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Laura, and infant sister Helen all of Stettler Alberta.

Survived by her brother Bob (Thelma Irvine), and nieces Elaine and Kerry (Dave) Waters. Also great nieces Sarah and Becky and great great nieces Lily and Poppy

Isabelle completed her nursing training at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton 1951 and received post graduate training at Wills Eye Hospital (Philadelphia) 1961 and McGill University 1965.

She joined the RCAF in 1953 with postings in France and Germany as well as Cold Lake, Halifax, Ottawa and Moose Jaw. She enjoyed curling everywhere she went both in Europe and in Canada. She also enjoyed downhill skiing until that complex leg break at Whistler in ‘68. In later years she enjoyed cross country skiing at Mt. Washington.

Isabelle retired to the Comox Valley in 1978 and worked several summers at the Quadra Cadet Camp. She volunteered with the Red Cross for many years: and the Red Cross Loan cupboard. She also volunteered with the Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society and swimming classes with special needs children.

Isabelle thoroughly enjoyed the Comox Valley: the artisans and potters, and the music! She enjoyed walking with Comox Valley Glacier Wanderers and was a dedicated Volksmarcher.

Isabelle lived at Berwick Retirement Community for 8 years and we would like to thank the staff for the care and attention she received especially in her final year. Also thank you to Seniors Village for the care during her final days. And a big thanks to Joy and Yves Bosse who have been so good to her these past ten years.

Celebration of Life to be held at Berwick May 6, from 1 to 4 pm.
