June 16, 1933 - December 14, 2021
In Loving Memory ~
Passed on December 14, 2021 at North Island Hospital Courtenay. Born June 16, 1933 in Vermilion Ab. Jim grew up on the farm with two older brothers. He began his education in a small country school and graduated high school in Vermilion. He became a banker, and in 1956 he married Marian, a girl he had met at a dance. They had two sons and Jim worked his way up while accepting transfers ending as manager of CIBC in Pincher Creek Alberta. 17 years into this career he decided to try something else, moved the family to Banff and opened Miller's Mens Wear. Later he sold this and opened a Grandma Lee's bakery Franchise, then bought a convenience store.
Later selling these businesses Jim and Marian moved to Comox where he worked construction and then operated a fast food kiosk in Comox Mall. Marian became ill with cancer and passed in early 1989.
Jim was "twice blessed" as he put it, because he met and married Evelyn Lannan of Comox. They were another perfect match and enjoyed each other in love for another 34 years.
He is survived by Evelyn, her 3 children and his two sons. Collectively they have 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Jim will be remembered for how well he loved.
