September 16, 1943 - September 5, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean Frederick Fourneau who passed away at North Island Hospital in Courtenay, B.C on September 5, 2021.
He has left behind his distraught, grieving, loving family; his daughter Nicole, son Jean (Deanise), 2 granddaughters Rashelle (Matt), Paige (Tyler) and 7 great-grandchildren Kiera, Kameron, Harper, Lucas, Lincoln, Emmett and Taelyn, his brother Dennis and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Jean is predeceased by his wife Jackie, his dad Jean Sr, his mom Dorothy, father-in-law Henry and mother-in-law Davidena.
Jean loved to fish, hunt and going to the cabin at Comox Lake with his wife Jackie and kids Nicole and Jean, later on Deanise and her children Rashelle and Paige were added to the family and he adored the time we all spent at the cabin. Unfortunately due to his health, he was unable to keep going to the cabin, but this was replaced with his 7 great-grandchildren that he loved so much.
Jean started his working career in the logging industry for T.W McKenzie, then went drywalling with his dad & brother for his dad's company Fourneau Drywall for many years, then went back logging for McMillian Blodel in Eve River, then back drywalling for his cousin Noel at Valley Drywall until he retired.
We would like to thank the staff on 3A at North Island Hospital in Courtenay for all their amazing care during Dad's stay there. Thank you to Dr. Samantha McRae, Dr. Stephen Nap and retired Dr. Gino Tancon and all the nurses and staff at ValleyCare Medical who have been so helpful over the years and took wonderful care of Dad.
Jean loved his family so much, but needed to be with his loving wife, Jackie.
His family loves him with all their hearts, but we understand that they are finally together again and are smiling down on us and watching with pride and love for us all. We know we have two guardian angels watching over us. There is not a day that will go by that we don't think of them together.
We love you and miss you.
As per Jean's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
