1943 ~ 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanann Alderson at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Eagleview on July 14 2015. Born in Inverness N.S. to Walter and Adelaide MacLeod. She met and married Arthur Richard Alderson in 1968. They were posted to Germany in 1972. In 1976 they moved to Comox with their two sons William and David where they eventually retired. Jeanann graduated as a RN in Halifax. She also worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Emergency then found her niche in Pediatrics until she retired in 1996.

Jeanann is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Arthur, her sons William, David (Denver), her lovely daughter-in-law Sadrian and her beautiful granddaughters Liana (6) and Sadye (1 1/2). Also her brother Peter and nephew Glynn.

Jeanann loved life, she was always moving and going places. She was involved in so much. She enjoyed Quilt Guild where she made numerous beautiful quilts. She was involved in Eastern Star, Parkinson Support Club and Hospice. She traveled to many places Cuba, England and Arkansas to name a few.

Jeanann will be missed by many for her good natured spirit, her wisdom and her sense of humor.

Thank you goes to the nurses and staff of Eagleview for the care she received in the last year.

Memorial will be held on July 25, 2015 at 1pm at Piercy’s Funeral Home, Courtenay BC. Please come and share stories of her life.
