Joel Robert Gary Anderson, 29, of Courtenay, BC died Sunday, August 09, 2020. When his optimal daily health habits, love for Red Bull energy drinks and unfortunate genetics led him into cardiac failure.
Joel was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding that it wasn't fair {a lesson from his father}. He will always remain known for reciting 'Sounds like a you problem' aloud before reluctantly offering assistance to anyone he saw struggling, thus exposing his kind heart.
He was a master of electronics, hell of a friend - and a subpar housekeeper {committing to having a bathroom unfit for company until the end}.
It is not lost on his family that Joel passed during a time of limited gatherings, where family and friends cannot co-mingle - he was never one for family events, although with the promise of food, he attended reluctantly.
A private family gathering will be held; those who knew him in friendship are invited to celebrate his life with a 'Wake n' Bake' on September 30 - as we toast to his champagne birthday {DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED}.
Joel is survived by his parents, Craig Anderson, and Sharon Anderson; siblings, Ron {Alecia}, Valerie {Dan, Anderson, Evangeline} and Matthew; grandparents Marge {Jim} and Phyllis; a LARGE loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, step-siblings; and many members of his hand-picked daily family, not to forget their dogs - who may now rest as peacefully as Joel without his harassment during their naps.
For all of us struggling with our grief, and lack of technical assistance at this time, may we find peace in the wise words of Joe Annasin Tech Support...
"Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"
