John Arthur Ledsham, age 71, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Victoria General Hospital.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Christine, son Christopher (Vidya), grandson Everett, sister Joan (Richard), nephews Peter (Denise) and Matthew, and in-laws.
John, known for his quick wit and pragmatism, easily made friends in his homes of Wallasey (England); Toronto and Aurora, Ontario (Canada); and his final home in Courtenay, British Columbia (Canada). Since retiring as an electrician with the Toronto Transit Commission in 1998, he continued to test his inquisitive mind with favoured pastimes including physical activities, games, and puzzles.
As an active person who loved skiing, kayaking, camping, and swimming, John enjoyed exploring and shared many adventures with his family and friends. His final memories involved his favourite activity, swimming, and his favourite person, his wife. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who have known and loved him.
Per John's request, there will be no funeral service.
