In Loving Memory ~

John David Fitzpatrick 74 of Courtenay passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Port Alberni, and raised in Ucluelet.

John was a jack of all trades and a master of many. He spent his life fixing everything from go-carts to excavators to sinks. He was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was building chicken coops, fixing boats or taking his family out crabbing and prawning. He was a great teacher for his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed a good debate with anyone who was willing. He also loved to go "help" Dale at the shop, envision new projects at the pit with John and Gord, show Hayden tricks of the trade and teach Cooper how to carry on the french fry production. He enjoyed his mornings playing crib with Butch and golf and lunches with Dave, Lito and Gord D.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years Roberta, His daughters Janice Thorburn (Ryan) and Brandi McGill (Ian), his grandchildren Hailey Robertson (Ian), Hayden Thorburn (Stephanie) and Cooper McGill and his great-grandchildren Maisie and Lillian Robertson. He is also survived by his brother Sandy Fitzpatrick (Joanne)

We miss seeing those ugly polka-dotted hats, which now with all the rips and stains are the most cherished items.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff for their compassionate care in his final days.

No Service as requested by Dad.
